Elder Alvarado - Seminary Certificates!

Saturday, 29-August-2009, was a busy day with the "service project" in the morning and then a visit from Elder Jorge M. Alvarado, 4th Quorum of the Seventies. We were privileged to have him stay at our home--such a treat! He is over the Seminary and Institute Programs in our area and gave instructions for a couple hours to Elder and Sister Faux and us--on ways to better our programs here in St. Lucia. We enjoyed his fun personality and deep wisdom and knowledge of the gospel. After instructions, we went to lunch together at "Spinnakers" down by the beach.

That evening we enjoyed having a Seminary Recognition Night and issuing certificates to those who had completed a year of seminary in our Castries Branch. The program consisted of talks by President Marquis, Elder Collins, Sister Girdharry, Sister Camejo and Elder Alvarado. A special song--"We are the World" was presented by three of our girls--Kacy, D'Anne and Sarah.

And now we present--------a certificate of recognition for completing one year of seminary to Rosey Etienne!

And to D'Anne De Beauville...... to Kacy Leonce...........and to Sarah Damaze!

Some final counsel from Elder Alvarado....

And at the end of the evening--our FOUR missionaries!

We have three more candidates almost ready for receiving their certificates; and will post their pictures as they complete their final make-up assignments. The following day--Sunday--in Sacrament meeting we had all of these seminary students that completed the course speak....It was a great weekend!

John 17:3

"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

  1. Awesome! It gives us hope for our seminary program. We had 4 in attendance yesterday to start the year. We know 3 more will join us soon. It is already double last years attendance.
