Iva is learning to read.

We have had the privilege of helping Iva Joseph read better. (Her formal schooling only lasted three years.) She started out with one day a week--not nearly enough. Then we went to three days a week. Now we have a program for her that includes four days every week. She travels to Anse la Ray on Tuesdays to Sister Felix's for math and computer, Wednesday at the church with Sister Collins and reading, Thursday--we take her to Sister Felix's again and Sister Collins helps there; and then on Friday back at our church to read and write! She is loving the learning and she has now started to come back to church on Sundays and Tuesdays for Young Men/Young Womens.

Some pictures taken one day when she was doing some white board exercises.

How much do we enjoy knowing that she really loves to do this! And then another day!

  2. Yes, the program can be ordered from the Distribution Center--it is called, "Ye shall have my words". And then I have added some "sight word lists and wordsearches, etc. She's loving it!
