Lawrence Doxilly's New Home

Lawrence Doxilly (a member in our Castries Branch) needed to move his home to another spot on the family land; he lives in the Babonneau Area of St. Lucia--very near the rain forests. Elder Endemann, Moala, and Collins have been helping move his old home, piece by piece, to the new spot. He has also had help from his family; but mostly has done it himself. Hard worker!

Each Saturday morning for a couple weeks--after working, Lawrence would cook some food for the Elders- he loves to cook! They love to eat!

This was the day that we moved his mattress; still needs to finish some spots and build a front porch. Almost ready to move in! (June 6, 2009)

Elder Collins helping...........Adrianna and I came to visit this day.

AND ON A VERY SAD NOTE: We learned today, that this last Wednesday, his little home burned to the ground! Don't really know the particulars; he wasn't there when it happened. Now, a week later, we have some pictures of what was left (it was a family quarrel--not a fun thing to think about!) He will hopefully be able to re-build one day.

  1. So glad he is OK! That looks like the places Alan stayed in when he served in Tonga. One time he live in the church shed for a few months. He slept by the lawn mower.

  2. So glad your friend wasn't hurt in the fire!

We listened to Elder Lunt's talk in sacrament. He just returned from the Tulsa, Oklahoma mission. His testimony was fantastic to hear. Elder Klumpp spoke right after him. He will enter the MTC and then serve also in the Tulsa, OK mission:)

  3. Will he be able to rebuild or would that not be financially possible? Anything we can do to help?

  4. He is now looking for a new job that could possibly help him be able to afford the materials for a new home. It will take awhile; people have been real generous in helping with new clothes and food and a small place to stay. He has the church behind him also.
