A P-Day Trip to Soufriere

Monday is the P-Day for our Elders on the Islands; some of those, we can do something special with them. One Monday, 20-April-2009, we went with Elder Endemann and Elder Moala to see the Diamond Falls and Botanical Gardens, Toraille Falls down by the town of Soufriere; and then to Marigot Bay on the way home.....A fun day on our beautiful island....getting to know the island better and realizing what special people there are here!

District Meeting 14-April-2009

We have the opportunity of traveling every other week to Vieux Fort for our District Meetings; and they travel our way to Castries on the opposite weeks. The travel time is about 1 hour and 20 minutes. We have become acquainted with the other Missionary Couple in Vieux Fort--Elder and Sister Faux; they are awesome! There are four Elders on our island; they just had a change in Vieux Fort this past transfer; we got to keep our Polynesian "Beats" (as they call themselves!)....we have become quite a "fearsome foursome".....teaching together, praying lots for the Branch together, and traveling places together!

Elder Endemann and Elder Moala overlooking Dennery on our way.

After our meeting (we have study time out of our Preach My Gospel handbooks and evaluate our efforts in our area), we went downtown to look over The Plantation House. They cook their food in these pots....and there was a "love boat" to take our pictures by--Elder Rosales and Elder Muse are with our Elders Endemann and Moala.

Iva Joseph's Baptism

One of the newest members of our Castries Branch is Iva Nikita Joseph. Her baptismal day (04-April-2009) was soon after we came to St. Lucia; we have become good friends and Sister Collins is helping her read better. We found out after her baptism that her mother was already a member, baptized years ago in Barbados. Iva works hard with her mother in their little shop by their home.

At the Castries Branch ready to go!

Elder Endemann baptized Iva at the Vigie Beach near the airport, not far from the Castries Branch building. Elder Collins and Elder Moala went in the water as witnesses. These two Polynesian Elders are ours! and we love them!

Seminary Super Saturday AND Melissa's Baptism--April 18, 2009

On a gorgeous Saturday, we loaded two buses and our Mitsubishi with seminary students, some leaders, President Gamiette and ourselves----headed for Vieux Fort to combine our two branches for a day of classes, beach fun, and best of all--Melissa Wilson's baptism! Vieux Fort is a town at the South end of our island; even though it is only about 25 miles away, it takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there, on the windy/mountainous roads. It was a successful outing; we learned lots and had a great time!

LAST---BUT NOT LEAST! MELISSA WILSON'S BAPTISM.
Melissa was baptized by Elder Endemann; Elder Collins and Elder Moala were the witnesses.
