President Gamiette and Family in St. Lucia

July 1, 2009: President Gamiette, our new West Indies Mission President, and his family, were able to spend a couple hours in St. Lucia on his way to the mission home in Trinidad. We organized a get-together on the Vigie Beach near the airport and several of our Castries Branch members were there and the Vieux Fort Missionaries. It became a great moment to meet his family.

Here we are, some of the Castries Branch and Vieux Fort missionaries preparing food for the gathering.

Welcome Gamiette Family!

Elders Sturdevant, Endemann, and Lang....... President Gamiette helping a couple of his cute children.

P-Day at the Cocoa Plantation

St. Lucia, Grenada, and some of the other Caribbean Islands are known for their Cocoa Plantations. We took a P-Day (June 22, 2009) with the Vieux Fort Missionaries to look at the one on the Southwest side of our island.

Elder Moala and Elder Endemann at the entrance to Fondoux Holiday Plantation. And a picture of our cute guide.

Touring the gardens.....

Just a few of the flowers in the garden.

A new Bamboo tree beginning.....and bananas!

I believe that Elder Moala was being the tour guide for Elder and Sister Faux :)......and Sister Faux pretending to find the fruit in the Garden of Eden.

Elder Collins found a friend!

Awesome Tree!

Elders Moala, Sturdevant, Endemann and Ash enjoyed being there (Elder Ash left for Suriname shortly after this P-Day). Also on this Plantation are cabins that can be rented--and a nice pool/lounge area that the Elders enjoyed for the moment (!)

Yes, Sister Collins was with us...we were treated with a drink of mango and/or fresh orange juice at the end of the tour. .....what about this last picture!

Ladder Golf--YM/YW

On the last combined Young Men and Young Women night, Elder Collins had the youth build the structures for "Ladder Golf", a game that our family play in the States all the time. Curt sent us the instructions via e-mail; we gathered the materials and spent the first part of our evening with the youth, putting it all together. We really wished we had taken pictures of this part--they all were very diligent about making it work. Then we played the game! It was dark and a bit rainy outside, so we set it up in our church building--so much fun!

Elder Collins demonstrating.......Rosy watching.................................Elder Moala concentrating!

Elder Endemann................................................................................................Kacy

Yahoo! I'm getting good! ----------------------------You had better watch out Elder Endemann!

Kacy is doubled over with laughter--Sarah and Matthew joined in! ---- Here comes Chris.

And then the games were over and it was Birthday Time.....Rosy is Sixteen! (Looks like Elder Collins got into the frosting)

We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are now making a second set of Ladder Golf.
