Elder Collins First Baptism

Avalon Patrice Domenique Theroulde was Elder Collins' first baptism on the 28th of December, 2008. Elder Risenmay and Elder Damm were the missionaries that helped us teach. Avalon has a sweet little boy named Isaiah.

The baptism took place in the font at the Arima Branch (Trinidad) and about 35 people were there to witness this special occasion. She was among the "2008 (2012) in 2008" goal of the West Indies Mission. Elder Collins was heard saying, "nothing is sweeter than baptising!"

Elder Collins Turns 70!

We have been on our Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for a marvelous five months! We were originally going to start our mission when Elder Collins turned 70--which was last week. But, sometimes our Heavenly Father knows best and does direct our lives. Back in the spring of 2008, we decided to put our home on the market as it was getting quite slow. At that time, we made the statement, "when we have a firm contract on our home, we will put our paperwork in for our mission", fully believing that it would take several months. Well guess what? our home was under contract in 3 1/2 weeks!--We put our paper work in! And here we are on the island of Trinidad--West Indies Mission--in the Caribbean!
